Minimum size of 0.04 mm to maximum 1.0 mm can be done through EDM drilling.

Precihole drilling / Deep hole drilling (gun drilling) is a specialized process for drilling very deep holes in metal parts. A coolant is pumped at high pressure into the cutting zone through a hole in the tool, and takes out the chips and the heat generated from the drilling operation. The burnishing surface of the drill ensures circularity and good surface finish of the drilled hole.

Features: Custom tooling needed, precise hole dimensions and finish, only for metals, suitable normally for long runs (short runs possible in certain cases).

Typical applications: Deep hole drilling in gun barrels, nozzles, crank shafts, etc., with 0.03 to 0.07 mm tolerance on hole diameter.

Range: 3 to 16 mm diameter x depth upto 100 to 200 times diameter.
