Compression Molding

Custom Parts made of Compression Molding can be supplied to specification by Custom Parts Online. Compression molding is a process for forming objects from materials such as rubber as well as thermoset plastics materials and reinforced composites. First, pre-compounded sheets are calendared to make thin sheets of semi-cured rubber/ plastics, which are placed in the mold cavity and pressed with compressive force. The cavity is thus filled with the requisite material and excess material flows out as flash.

Features: Custom tooling needed, precise dimensions and details, suitable normally for long runs only.

Typical parts: Most 3 dimensional parts, such as bushes, insulators, junction boxes, telecommunication boxes, junction cable boxes, in thermosets and small flexible parts, gaskets, o-rings,seals, flanges, etc.,in rubber. It is possible to make 100 mm max. thickness, with 0.1 to 0.5 mm dimensional tolerance depending on dimensions.

Max. part size: 800 mm length x 600 mm width x 100 mm height.

Note: For parts made by this process, we will send offers within 5 working days.
