Plasma Cutting | Features & Advantage of CNC Plasma Cutting
Plasma cutting is used to cut mostly steel (ferrous metals). An inert gas or compressed air is blown at high speed out of a nozzle, and at the same time an electrical arc is formed from the nozzle to the surface being cut, turning some of the gas to plasma. This hot plasma melts and blows the molten metal away as the gun moves along the cut line.
Features: No need for tooling, not much of burrs in cutting, easy repeatability of cutting designs, can cut thicker metal sheets, suitable for short runs.
Typical parts: Any flat part of thickness 2.0 mm upto 32 mm (in steel), 16 mm (in stainless steel), with 0.4 to 1.0 mm dimensional tolerance depending on thickness. (With Oxy fuel: Can cut steel plates upto 150 mm thickness, tolerances vary depending on design - will quote based on individual drg.)
Max. part size: 8000 mm length x 3200 mm width x 32 mm (in steel), 16 mm (in stainless steel).
(Note: For parts outside this size range, we will send offers within 5 working days.)
