EDM wire cutting is a process where a wire moves through the material to be cut, while a voltage pulse is applied to the moving wire to produce repetitive spark discharges, resulting in cutting of the material. Very thick metal sheets can be cut accurately to get complex contours.

Features: No need for tooling, no burrs in cutting, easy repeatability of cutting designs, can cut very thick metal sheets, suitable for short runs.

Typical parts: Flat gears, punches and dies from metal sheets with 0.1 to 0.5 mm dimensional tolerance depending on thickness.

Max. part size: 610 mm length x 610 mm width x 305 mm thickness
