WIRE DRAWING

Wire Drawing is a process by which a round metal billet is forced into a die hole of the desired diameter and is stretched to form a thin wire. The feed is basically malleable metal lump or billet as what they call it, sent into the forming zone by means of automated feed, and the pull outs are controlled either by manual adjustment of speed or CNC controlled motors.

Principally the tolerances of the parties defined by the

accuracy of the die

thickness of material chosen

the malleability of the metal chosen

pull-out time and load

high volume processing

Features: Spinning is done to make wires of all sizes. Complex machines are available for post-spinning operations like netting, twisting to make multi strand ropes etc.

Sizes: 0.1 mm to 10 mm diameter can be wire drawn.

Materials used: Almost all malleable metals.
